Is it legal to carry the benchmade 760 tanto knife in California?

I'm going to buy this only if I can carry it around. It is 9 inches altogether,4inch cmp m4 tanto blade,mono lock mechanism I,m 18- is it legal to carry in the mountains or while walking outside. I live in the la county (pasadena) California
