I just jailbreaked my ipod touch version 2.1, but nothing is coming up in the installer help?

i just jailbreaked my ipod touch 2.1 but when i go on to the installer, there is nothing there, do i need wi fi for the stuff on the installer to come up????? i used quickp wn or somtnig like that to jailbreak my ipod touch 2.1. and another quiestion.. what does cydia do on my ipod touch ?? do i need internet on that too??
