MFT Bias in California?

Hello. I am currently pursuing a Master's of Arts in Organizational Management, but I'm thinking of switching to the Marriage and Family Therapy program, as this interests me a lot more. However, I spoke with an LCSW at my work and she said that there's a huge bias against MFTs in California--people would rather hire LCSWs. For all you MFTs out there, have you found this to be true? I am just weighing my options and I wanted to get opinions from people who have experienced (or not experienced) this bias firsthand. Thank you!
